- Abstract
The article presents a study which examines the capability of aquifer injection to improve the condition of stressed river red gum (Eucalyptus camaldulensis) on lower River Murray's floodplain. The study shows that aquifer injection lessened the salinity in the capillary fringe but did not enhance the condition of the river. Moreover, the study suggests that an increase in water freshening, well breaching, and aquifer clogging are necessary for environmental flows.
