- Title
Increased Blood Pressure Variability: A Marker of Augmented Sympathetic Vascular Reactivity?
- Authors
Niiranen, Teemu J
- Abstract
The article presents a study which states that increased blood pressure variability is related with an increased risk of incident cardiovascular disease. It suggests that increased blood pressure variability could be only a surrogate marker of poor adherence to increased alcohol use or therapy, which in turn are causally related to adverse outcomes. A novel approach to elucidating the factors underlying blood pressure variability is discussed.
