- Title
Secular security for your executive benefits.
- Authors
Tauber, Yale D.
- Abstract
This article discusses the security of executives' benefits in a volatile business climate. The frequency of takeovers and mergers has many executives concerned that companies may default on their compensation obligations. The author thinks this fear is overstated but offers suggestions to alleviate this anxiety. He describes the secular trust; a trust that is protected from creditors and offers many tax advantages. These trusts will remain the best option as long as corporate tax rates exceed individual rates.
