- Abstract
Isolation reinforcement has been widely used in Multilayer Masonry Structure to improve the seismic performance. A four-layer masonry structure in the schoolhouses' first-floor isolation reinforcement underneath was studied in this paper. Three types of models were developed, including the original structure, first-floor isolation reinforcement underneath and basic isolation reinforcement, The numerical simulation was performed with SAP2000. The structure was evaluated through modal analysis and dynamic time-history analysis. The result demonstrated that the structures seismic performance has been improved distinctly under the earthquake action after isolation reinforcement. Isolated bearing was posed reasonably. In addition, was compared with basic isolation, arrangement of the isolated bearing under the first floor will not only gain excellent performance of seismic isolation, but it is also convenient to implement efficiently and frugally in the practical application.
