- Abstract
Matthias Lamping, a chemist, switches from industry to academia after completing his doctorate and becomes a professor of Applied Chemistry and Food Chemistry at Münster University of Applied Sciences. He appreciates the diverse tasks and the absence of a traditional corporate structure at the university. As a professor, he is responsible for various chemical lectures and laboratory practicals. Lamping juggles between his teaching duties at the university and taking care of his daughter. He considers teaching to be the core of the university of applied sciences and strives to improve the studying experience for the students. Lamping has also been appointed as the dean of the department and is expecting his second child. Münster University of Applied Sciences consists of twelve departments and offers a variety of degree programs.
