- Abstract
The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) has discovered the primary carbocation CH3+ in a sun and planetary system located 1500 light-years away. Researchers from Cologne identified the particle based on infrared radiation. A team from Munich and Freiburg has developed a diamond quantum sensor that converts a magnetic field into an optical signal and can be used as a high-resolution nuclear magnetic resonance tomograph. Researchers from the University of Bayreuth, together with colleagues from the UK and Sweden, have solved the crystal structure of the Zeta-phase of solid nitrogen. An open-source program called Insensitive simulates and visualizes NMR experiments in solution and is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
