- Abstract
The article discusses the xeroderma pigmentosum (XP) which is a rare genodermatosis with a high increased risk of skin cancer because of an inability to repair ultraviolet radiation-induced deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) damage. It states that patients at a median age of 9 years with untreated XP have developed skin cancer.
