- Abstract
Non-melanoma skin cancers (NMSCs) are comprised of squamous cell carcinomas (SCCs) and basal cell carcinomas (BCCs) - with few other rare appendageal tumours - and are the most frequently diagnosed malignant tumours in humans. SCCs may be the second most common of the two (representing 20% of NMSCs), but they have the ability to metastasise through the body and result in death. This article will review the aetiology, presentation and treatment options for SCCs.
