- Abstract
This paper addresses the strategies for remaining on the land and social reproduction of the way of life of farming families in the Brazilian Amazon, focusing on the occupation process of Vicinal 15 and Travessão, of the Jatapu Settlement, in the southeastern region of Roraima. Based on the trajectory of some residents - arrivals, departures, permanence and ordinary circulation of everyday life, we seek to understand how practices of occupation and use of territory shape peoples' lives. The local context is framed by uncertainty about land title regularization and highlights the pioneering and leading role of families regarding access to land, in addition to solidarity networks aimed at maintaining or expanding work areas, implemented to ensure family reproduction.
