AACSB ACCREDITED SCHOOLS' APPROACH TO BUSINESS COMMUNICATION COURSES.

- Abstract
To determine the role of business communications in AACSB accredited schools, questionnaires were mailed to 198 schools accredited by or affiliated with the AACSB. Of the 142 schools responding, 108 (76 percent) offered at least one course in the area, and 60 percent offered this course at the upper division level. While most schools called their most basic communication course "business communication,"an analysis of course content suggests a more accurate title would have been "written communication." This emphasis on written communication was felt to be due to the fact that the course was frequently taught by business education or office administration.
