- Title
Technology: New Ways for Clean Water.
- Authors
Roberts, Amanda S.
- Abstract
The article presents information related to the contaminants in the water and also addresses steps being taken to improve drinking water quality. The science communities are seeking new technologies to disinfect water, remove current and emerging pathogens without intensive use of chemicals or production of toxic byproducts, and to reuse wastewater and desalinate water from sea and inland, in order to fulfill the growing demand for purified drinking water. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention in the U.S. has established several programs to provide methods for communities to improve water by using household treatment options and one such project is the Safe Water System.
