- Abstract
The article presents a study which observes whale sharks or Rhincodon typus in the offshore waters of Rushikulya, Orissa, India, belonging to the Orectolobiformes and Rhincodontidae specie. The Rhincodon typus is described with a maximum length of about 12 meters and weighs about 30 tons, calling it as the only largest fish and one of the largest extant animals. However, its sightings have been concerned due to issues on global climate which affected the health and the whale shark populations.
