- Abstract
The article reports the agreement of ASARCO Inc. to settle the citations issued to them by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for willful violations of the agency's lead and arsenic health standards. The company will pay half a million dollars and implement feasible engineering and work practice to minimize lead and arsenic exposure at its East Helena, Montana. OSHA administrator Gerard F. Scannell reported that ASARCO posted a bond to ensure compliance with the settlement agreement.
