- Abstract
The article discusses the implications of mandatory physician drug testing under California's Proposition 46, the Medical Malpractice Lawsuits Cap and Drug Testing of Doctors Initiative. Topics discussed include exclusion of all members of the health care team like nurses and pharmacists during the testing, duty of all physicians to random testing despite the harm from their activities they do in the hospital, and role of a hospital's organized medical staff in promoting patient safety.
