- Title
The Cost of Accreditation: Hillsdale Ends Its Teacher Certification Program.
- Authors
Coupland, Daniel
- Abstract
The article discusses the expected termination of Teacher Certification Program in Hillsdale College in Michigan as it decided not to pursue Michigan Board of Education (MBOE) national accreditation for teacher preparation institutions (TPIs) by 2013. It says that the accreditation authority was delegated to the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC). It adds that Hillsdale views the accreditation unnecessary.
