- Title
Primary open-angle glaucoma patients show perfusion pressure variations.
- Abstract
The article reports that primary open-angle glaucoma patients show a distinct behavior of perfusion pressure, according to a presentation by ophthalmologist Vital P. Costa at the 2009 World Glaucoma Congress. He points out a striking difference between glaucoma patients and healthy controls in terms of intraocular pressure (IOP) elevation and perfusion pressure. He believes that the current management of glaucoma is incomplete due to the impossibility od measuring IOP and perfusion pressure at night.
