- Abstract
Short presentation of Lusitanian epigraphy and the Lusitanian linguistic interferences in divine names present in the Latin votive epigraphy. These interferences are evidence of a residual and limited bilingualism. Gaulish epigraphy in Latin alphabet is another case of link language literacy and oral survival of a local language with writing function limited to the religious world. Both cases serve for revealing an ethnic identity; Gaulish aristocracy demonstrates its personality against roman aristocracy, Lusitanian communities against non-Lusitanian ethnic groups. In both cases they are identities in part inherited, in part born from Romanization and integrated in Roman complexity.
