- Abstract
The article presents a teaching technique for any classroom discussion regarding religious clauses of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The strategy provides background of the religion clauses in the amendment to students, enabling them to analyze the aspect of religious establishment and free religious exercise and how the concepts have evolved over the past two hundred years. The lesson's objectives and procedures which includes class discussions focusing on the "establishment" clause, free exercise of religion, and establishment against free exercise, are presented.
