- Abstract
The article discusses the protection of human rights by the United Nations (UN) in post-conflict societies, involving the participation of UN organizations such as the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and the Security Council. Peace agreements, national planning, and human rights programming from the UN are discussed. UN involvement in countries such as Sierra Leone, Afghanistan, and East Timor is discussed.
