- Authors
Norman, Geraldine
- Abstract
The article describes art collections at the Hermitage Rooms at Somerset House in London, England. The creation of the Hermitage Rooms was the culmination of talks between Lord Rothschild and Professor Mikhail Piotrovski, director of Hermitage. The talks involved the creation of a permanent exhibition space where the Hermitage of Saint Petersburg, Russia would provide objects for temporary exhibitions at this space. Under this arrangement, the Museum in Saint Petersburg is provided with an additional source of funds, and curators are offered an opportunity to work as colleagues with British scholars and scholarly institutions.
