- Abstract
General equations are obtained for calculating the amplitude–frequency and phase–frequency responses of a tripole-type vector–scalar receiver with a time delay of a monopole signal formed from omnidirectional sound pressure receivers with arbitrary characteristics. Analytical expressions for the main electroacoustic characteristics of the tripole are derived. It is shown that introducing frequency-dependent amplification into the dipole signal makes it possible to expand by a factor of 1.5 the frequency range of effective unidirectional reception of a tripole with a directivity pattern close to a cardioid. Analysis of the limits of the frequency range of effective unidirectional reception is carried out. The calculated directivity patterns are in good agreement with the experiment.
