- Abstract
The article investigates the temporal variability of ichthyoplankton in a coastal station located at Valparaiso Bay during the warm and cold phases of the El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) cycle from 1997 to 2000. The results revealed that specific taxa of both eggs and larvae showed fluctuations of their abundance at seasonal scale. However, the researchers found that the whole diversity of the larval fish community was not affected between the ENSO phases despite the differences in sea level height and Ekman transport during the same time.
