The author reflects on the experimental procedures of how the thermal phase transition works in a metal iron. It is stated that the transition is driven through the conflict between maximizing entropy and minimizing energy. Moreover, the transition would take effect in a system at zero temperature when a distinct quantum theory continuously tuned as a function of an external parameter including pressure, carrier concentration or applied magnetic fields.
