- Title
Sensors and probes: FISHing for faster findings.
- Authors
Eisenstein, Michael
- Abstract
The article focuses on the development of an imaging tool that enables real-time analysis of the activity of individual RNA polymerase molecules by scientists Zhengjian Zhang and Andrey Revyakin at the Janelia Farm Research Campus. Topics discussed include use of quick hybridizing probes for imaging the events leading to genetic transcription, set up to monitor transcription with labeled oligonucleotide probes and use of fast fluorescence in situ hybridization (fastFISH) method.
