- Abstract
The article discusses a study on the rate of accidents in children less than five years old in a rural community in Belgaum District in Karnataka, India. The accidents were classified based on the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems. The study found that the rate of accidents was 3.13% per 100 child on monthly basis or 0.35% per child on yearly basis. The types of common injury among children include abrasions, cuts and lacerated wounds.
