- Abstract
The article discusses the threat posed by the coconut rhinoceros beetle (CRB) to Vanuatu's coconut palms. The invasive pest has caused significant damage to coconut plantations and the coastline landscape on the island of Efate. Coconut palms are not only economically important but also hold cultural significance for the island nation. The government of Vanuatu has implemented various measures, including an emergency declaration and the Cash for Beetle program, to combat the CRB infestation. Public engagement and collaboration with international partners are crucial in the ongoing fight to protect Vanuatu's coconut palms.
