The article discusses the return of the Republican influence in the politics of South Dakota following the temporary surge of Democratic victories. Topics discussed include Democratic victories in South Dakota which include Governor Andrew E. Lee, Thomas M. Berry, and Richard F. Kneip. Also discussed are the farm program factor of the Democrats, the influence of U.S. President John Kennedy, and the impressive Republican campaign led by Senator Karl Mundt.
