- Abstract
The article discusses a study related to decrease in levels of serum vitamin D in patients without remission of graves' disease (GD). It informs that GD is an autoimmune thyroid disease in which thyrotropin receptor autoantibodies cause hyperthyroidism. It also informs that vitamin D has potent immunomodulatory effects and plays important roles in the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases.
