- Abstract
Paskal is a Huastec dish prepared with chicken or turkey broth and flavored with sesame oil and two different types of chile. The Tantoyuca Huastecs used to prepare this dish mainly when there was a reason to celebrate, but it could be prepared also just to make friends or relatives happy. The story that I present here explains how this dish is cooked and describes the usual occasions when it is consumed. This story was narrated by Proceso Reyes, a huastec speaker of the Tantoyuca, Veracruz, Huastec variant.
