- Abstract
The article discusses the study on the mechanism on stromal interaction molecule 1 (STIM1)-mediated activation of ORAI channels. The study shows that the dimerization of the membrane proximal coiled-coil 1 (CC1) domain of STIM1CT undocks STIM1-ORAI activating region (SOAR) from a binding site on CC1 and stabilizes the α-helical structure of CC1. Result shows that STIM1CT allows polybasic domain to bridge gap between the plasma membrane and endoplasmic reticulum.
