- Abstract
The article discusses the British film combine Gaumont-British Picture Corp.'s collaboration with the German film combine Universum Film Aktiengesellschaft (UFA) in 1932. The aim of the partnership was to make simultaneous English-language versions of German film productions from the slate of producer Erich Pommer. Films that were generated under the scheme in 1932 and early 1933 included "Happy Ever After," "Early to Bed," "FPI" and "The Only Girl." The films' lack of commercial or artistic success is also explored.
