- Abstract
The article provides information on the Second Life (SL) instructional system designed to improve the educational system in the U.S. Instructional designers have introduced some traditional models in teaching and learning methods using three-dimensional (3D) multiplayer game and computer-simulated methods in personalizing appearance of animated characters called avatars. It states that the strategic approach would develop the abilities of the teachers especially in decision making and problem-solving. Information regarding the principles of instruction for virtual worlds, including immersion, interaction, identity and integration are also discussed.
