- Abstract
The article discusses the importance of grammar lesson among Grade 8 students and the way to undertake the lesson effectively. It mentions the history of grammar lesson that began in the publication of Robert Lowth's English grammars in 1794, which is based on Latin rules and has influences from writerss, authors and priests. It adds that the instructional benefits of traditional school grammar instruction is rooted in the theory of prescriptivism.
