- Authors
Freeze, Karen Johnson
- Abstract
The article discusses the history of the BD200 open-end spinning machine from Czechoslovakia as an example of innovation and technology transfer during the Cold War. According to the article, the BD200 was a very successful textile making machine that dominated the textile industry for many years. An established infrastructure in machine-powered textile production, a centrally planned command economy, and the decentralization of the economy in the 1960s led to the development of the BD200.
