- Abstract
The article discusses how the teaching of critical thinking is implemented at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry. Optometry students in the college are essentially forced in a supervised clinical setting to apply their knowledge to real life situation where faculty supervisors evaluate students and provide constructive feedbacks in order to improve student performance. Lecture materials and assigned readings also emphasize evidence-based decision making.
