- Abstract
The article discusses the views of Nyaya philosopher Udayana about non-existent objects based on his writing "Atmatattvaviveka" (ATV). Topics discussed include Udayana's argument against the Buddhist thesis of universal momentariness, the inference from existence according to Udayana's Buddhist opponent in the ATV, and the three types of debate distinguished by Udayana when replying to his objectors which include constructive debate, adversarial debate and destructive debate.
