- Abstract
In this paper, a novel fault tolerant control (FTC) of the SAPF configuration is proposed and evaluated with balanced and unbalanced loads. The FTC operation is used in order to optimize the energy transfer and ensure the security and reliability of the shunt active power filter (SAPF) system. In healthy and failure modes and using detection algorithms, the proposed strategy is able to tolerate the unbalanced load problem and the inverter IGBT fault. To generate the reference harmonic currents, we used the instantaneous active and reactive power (p − q − r) method with the phase-locked loop and pulse width modulation techniques. Simulation results are presented in order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed FTC strategy of the SAPF.
