- Abstract
The longitudinal traffic corridor in belt-shape cities is long and the transverse width is narrow which may cause traffic congestion. In this paper, using the method of combining data analysis of traffic status survey and future traffic forecast, the characteristic values of traffic trips before and after the construction of rail transit were compared. The result shows that, the linear rail transit along the axis for belt-shape cities could undertake major transportation, and optimize future transportation. It is mainly manifested in strengthening and guiding green bus travel, improving residents travel accessibility, and significantly improving the congestion of major urban roads.
