- Abstract
This article, published in the Arab Journal of Interventional Radiology, discusses the use of Percutaneous Laser Ablation (PLA) as a treatment for symptomatic solid benign thyroid nodules. The study involved 14 female patients who underwent a single session of PLA. The results showed that 85% of patients experienced clinical success at 6 months, with a significant reduction in nodule volume. There were no cases of nodule regrowth or major complications, although one patient experienced transient vocal cord paralysis. The authors conclude that PLA therapy is effective in reducing nodule volume and improving symptoms with low complication rates.
