- Abstract
Objectives: to understand the profile of cases of occupational burns in Brazil and regions, from 2015 to 2020. Methods: retrospective, descriptive study with time series, based on accident data from the Ministry's Yearbook of Occupational Accidents Statistics due to Burns and Corrosion of Labor and Social Security for the three-year periods 2015 to 2017 and 2018 to 2020. Results: 92,418 accidents due to burns and corrosion were recorded in the period studied, 10 diagnoses of burns and corrosion were present among the 200 items of the International Code of Diseases plus incidents of accidents every year. There was a higher occurrence of the diagnosis of Burn and Corrosion of the Wrist and Hand (T23) (25.89%). The year 2018 had the highest incidence rate (4.79). The South region had the highest incidence rates in all years of the series and the North region had the lowest. Conclusions: codes related to burns are among the most incidents related to work accidents. These results become important for planning worker health surveillance actions.
