How Surveys Are Made.
- Authors

- Abstract
The surveying of public attitudes and opinions during recent years has attracted an increasingly large audience. The "public opinion polls" now share newspaper space with the most omniscient columnists. To most people, who know about polls, surveying must appear to be a transparently simple procedure. They seldom suspect the detailed labors which lie behind the neat column of figures. It is the aim of this article to provide insights on how surveys are made. It attempts to describe briefly the major steps that are followed in surveying and to answer some of the common questions as to the techniques which lie behind survey findings.
