- Abstract
The article focuses on the Bornean photographic collections of Alfred Cort Haddon, one of the founding fathers of modern British social anthropology from Cambridge University in England. Haddon led an expedition in 1898 to the Torres Strait, a group of islands between Australia and New Guinea, that was considered as a milestone in the development of British anthropology. The members of the expedition were able to gather 500 images wherein 186 of those were documentary photographs in Borneo.
