- Abstract
Objective: To analyze the race time, age and difference in performance of champion athletes of the São Paulo International Marathon due to biological sex and classification by continent. In addition to checking the rate of winners by countries and continents. Materials and Methods: The sample was integrated by secondary data available on the web referring to the São Paulo International Marathon, being analyzed the editions between 1995 and 2022. Using descriptive and inferential statistical treatment through the software Excel 2021 and JASP 0.16.4, using the tests of Shapiro-Wilk, Levene Test and 2x2 Factorial Anova. Results: The average time was observed in the male biological sex of 02:15:43 ± 00:02:13 and in the female biological sex 02:39:27 ± 00:03:23 the difference in performance between biological sex was 17%. The Factorial Anova test statistically indicated an effect on the test time variable in the gender factor at significance level p<0.01 with effect size η2 0.941 and classification at significance level p<0.05 with effect size η2 0.006, on the age variable in the factor classification, statistical effect was observed with significance level p<0.05 with effect size η2 0.122. Conclusion: Athletes from the continent had a greater number of victories, in addition to being younger and with better results, the female race time was reduced, as well as the difference in performance between biological sex.
