- Abstract
This article reviews the challenges, objectives, methods and results of the deployment of the first online creative writing course - devoted in particular to the writing of detective novels - at Laval University in Quebec. With its unusual educational formula and a transgressive framework (the thriller allows you to do what the writer Jérôme Leroy calls the "beautiful work of the negative"), this remote workshop, rich in interactive tools, illustrates some of the possibilities of creative decomplexion of students and their learning autonomy in a non-frontal teaching framework. The project also makes it possible to consider the contribution of new technologies to the discipline of creative writing which, like the detective story, represents an area still in need of academic legitimization.
