- Abstract
The article presents a study which assesses the monitoring power for population trends of two species of threatened pteropodids (flying-foxes). The study uses simulation methods, Monte Carlo approach and power analysis to determine the effects of different errors on monitoring power. Results show that 13.5 year of count data is required for the approach to detect the population decline of virtual flying-fox with 80% power.
