- Abstract
The objective of the work is to investigate, empirically, the effects of monetary and macroprudential policy on gross domestic product (GDP), price inflation indexes and credit supply in five of the main Latin American economies: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Mexico. For this, the model of auto-regression vector panel (VAR) is used. The main results obtained consist of a drop in economic indicators after the application of shocks in monetary and macroprudential policies. This shows that these two policies have similar effects on the economy and must be used in a coordinated manner.
