- Abstract
The objective was to identify the scientific evidence available in the literature on the association between night work and cardiovascular risk in the nursing team. It is an integrative review of the literature developed in the databases: Latin American and Caribbean Literature of Health Sciences Information (Lilacs), in the National Library of Medicine (PubMed), in the Nursing Database (BDENF) and on the Web of Science, from 2001 to 2018. 22 studies were found and the analysis was carried out descriptively. Harmful repercussions of night work were observed in the life of the nursing professional, especially with regard to cardiovascular risks. Attention is paid to the need for health institutions to evaluate and monitor these professionals, providing interventions that can minimize cardiovascular risks.
