- Abstract
The leaching of gold with thiosulfate in an ammoniacal media was studied. The concentrates contained 44.1 and 71.4 (g/t) of gold respectively, the main mineralogical species present correspond to sphalerite (ZnS), chalcopyrite (CuFeS2), galena (PbS), pyrite (FeS) and gangue. The tests were carried out in a stirred reactor, with a maximum contact time of 50 hours. The parameters pH, thiosulfate and Cu (II) concentration were studied. The gold dissolved mostly at pH 10.5; 74.1 (g/l) of thiosulfate and 3.18 (g/l) of cupric ion, with gold recoveries of 84% for the low-grade concentrate and 82% for the high grade.
