- Abstract
The article focuses on the Earth system model of intermediate complexity LOVECLIM which represents several aspects including atmosphere, icebergs, and the carbon cycle. Surface temperature changes tend to be underestimated while ocean heat uptake is overestimated. ECBilt2, a T21, 3-level quasi-geostrophic model, is the atmospheric component while CLIO3, made up of an ocean general circulation model coupled to a comprehensive thermodynamic-dynamic sea-ice model, is the oceanic component.
