- Title
Not Dead Yet: Controlled Non-Heart-Beating Organ Donation, Consent, and the Dead Donor Rule.
- Authors
Gardiner, Dale; Sparrow, Robert
- Abstract
The article offers information on the medical ethics in relation to controlled non-heart-beating organ donation (NHBD) and dead donor rule(DDR) in the U.S. It states that informed consent is the appropriate consent for medical procedure to be carried out while the patient is still alive. It argues that registration for organ donation must not be taken as a reason to undergo premortem interventions.
